The PowerSafe® V Front Terminal range of Valve Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA) batteries has been designed specifically for use in applications that demand the highest levels of security and reliability. The new PowerSafe V Front Terminal platform now features proprietary Thin Plate Pure Lead (TPPL) technology which provides extended shelf life, lower corrosion and gas evolution.
Designed to meet the most rigorous international standards, PowerSafe V Front Terminal batteries are recognized worldwide as a premium solution for Telecom applications. The reputation of PowerSafe V Front Terminal batteries for long service life, together with excellent high rate performance, make them ideal for high integrity, high specification systems.
PowerSafe V Front Terminal batteries deliver superior performance while occupying less space than conventional standby power batteries. A range of compact designs, suitable for 19" and 23" racking, provides users with the benefit of increased energy density. With all electrical connections at the front, installation and inspection are both quicker and easier.
Construction
- 10-year design life at 95°F (35°C)
- Positive Plates - Utilize TPPL technology
- Negative Plates - Provide perfect balance with the positive plate to ensure optimum recombination efficiency
- Separators - Superior quality microporous glass mat separators with high absorption and stability
- Containers and Lids - UL94 V-0 rated flame retardant Polycarbonate (PC) - ABS material, highly resistant to elevated temperatures, shocks and vibrations
- Electrolyte - High grade dilute sulphuric acid absorbed into separator material
- Terminals - High integrity leak resistant terminal seal design
- Self-regulating Pressure Relief Valves - Prevent ingress of atmospheric oxygen
- Flame Arrestors - Built into each bloc for increased operational safety

Installation and Operation
- Designed for operation at high temperatures in float applications

- Designed for use in cabinets or on stands, close to the point of use; separate battery room is not required
- Blocs should be installed on their base or horizontally on their longest sides
- Up to two year shelf life due to low rate of self-discharge
- Low maintenance; no water addition required
